Several charitable bodies supported the troops during Dad's war and they are given grateful recognition in the pages of his war autobiography. The Salvation Army and the Women's (Royal) Voluntary Service were always around to feed hungry soldiers at railway stations, particularly mentioned after Dunkirk and other wartime journeys in Dad's WW2 war diary.
Furthermore, Dad died of prostate cancer and the family is indebted for his respite care provided by The Marie Curie Cancer Care. If the Graham Fulford Charitable Trust had been around in his day he may have discovered his prostate cancer at a more curable stage so this very worthy cause is also included in our links.
He would have been pleased to see this site also offering support for Help for Heroes. Many times during the war he was touched by the kindness and support shown by members of the public such as when he was trudging around the streets of Cardiff after his return from Dunkirk. Help for Heroes echos the spirit that as a nation we should support our armed forces more.
If you feel moved to offer any of these charities some support for the good work they do today, please follow the links below.
